I still can’t believe it’s June and I haven’t ridden my bike once yet this year. It took more than 2 months to get the parts in after bending the valves. As of the end of May I was caught up to late March. I’m creating this maintenance record for archival purposes.

Mileage: 31,100
Time Period: Winter-Spring 2007

Maintenance
Oil and filter change, Amsoil
Valve Adjustment, new cam cover gasket, oil feed tube o-ring and washers
New K&N Air Filters RC-2890, RC-2900
New K&N Fuel Filter
Replace broken throttle cable with used cable (from Grump on BonnevilleAmerica.com)

Repairs
New intake valves (2) and oil seals, left cylinder
New exhaust valves (2) and oil seals, left cylinder
New head gasket
New cam retainer bolts (3)
New oil breather tube o-rings
New cam tensioner gasket and washer

Upgrades/Accessories

Make-over (in progress) – the Flat Tracker
Custom (spare) tank – shaved dash, relocated filler bung
Custom (spare) front fender, bobbed
Custom (spare) rear fender, bobbed, removed stock tail light, filled pillion seat hole
Custom paint
Phantom Pad rear seat (used) – just for luggage, not passengers
NYC Choppers brushed aluminum Monza gas cap
Harley Davidson gas tank filler bung
Retro drilled side-mount tail light
Kuryakyn LED retro bullet turn signals, red – rear, amber – front
Signal Dynamics LED replacement bulb
Signal Dynamics run-turn-brake module (penta-star?)
Spun aluminum chromed headlight, 5 3/4″
D&D Reverse-cone mufflers (used)
Removed driving lights
Removed factory tachometer (kept wiring, see below)
Removed rider backrest, luggage rack and seat (will use for travel)
Removed saddlebags and easy bracket hardware – I’m sick of these things, I’ll probably sell them and travel just with dufflebags
Black cloth exhaust wrap (silicone spray and stainless steel ties) for header pipes

To Do
Remove engine “crash” bars
Fab up sidemount brakelight bracket
Build rear wiring harness for new fender
Finish mods to front fender bracket to clear 120 front tire

Future Plans
Polish front end
Remove stock speedometer
Install new instrumentation, Dakota Digital combo gauge or Veypor computer with billet cover
Send D&D mufflers to Jet-Hot for coating, rechrome heat shields and polish tips (if I like the sound – otherwise gut stock long pipes)
New pullback drag style handlebars with pull-back risers
New Stainless steel throttle and clutch cables
Internal control wiring
Move front turn signals to front end from handlebars
Chrome stock control housings
BCC custom seat or strip stock seat, trim stock seat pan and have repadded and reupholstered.

WAY Future Plans – the Bagger
Custom paint for original tank and fenders
Tsukayu hard saddlebags
Custom engine crash bars
LED brake light panel for stock tail light
Custom tank panel to replace plastic dash without modifying stock tank
Design/fabricate new battery box
