“…the Rocket III isn’t just a special motorcycle. It’s a truly extraordinary one.” I finally got to ride one last Saturday.
Oh. My. God.
Notice how I capitalized ‘God.’ Riding that bike was a religious experience. I will have one some day, unless the new mid-size cruiser, rumored to be powered by a two-cylinder version of the Rocket III engine, is nearly impressive and much cheaper.
Before the ride, my first impressions sitting astride the bike were than it’s not as ugly in person as it is in the magazines, and the tank is a lot wider than I thought it would be. My Rocket III would have this factory paint kit with matching Corbin beetle bags and a Corbin seat, possibly their Rumble Seat. So just those few items add about $4500 to the cost of the bike. It will be interesting to see if the second new bike due to be announced at the September Dealer’s Conference is the touring version of the Rocket III.
